Most of you will already know this, but there are an estimated 4,000 miles of trout streams and rivers in Western North Carolina, so come early or stay late and make this a great fishing vacation!  From the fly fishing only section of the Davidson right outside the door of the Pisgah Wildlife Center, to the delayed harvest sections within a short drive, and the headwaters streams off the Blue Ridge Parkway, there is something for everyone and April is a great time of year to be fishing in the mountains.

LODGING: The town of Brevard is very close to all of the CCG activities and Asheville and Hendersonville are just a short drive away with many more lodging options.  There are a variety of hotels and B&Bs in the area, with prices to suit every budget.

CAMPING:  There are also abundant camping resources nearby, including the nearby Davidson River Campground.  Several attendees stay at the Davidson River Campground, reservations are suggested and can be found at: recreation.gov by clicking on the link, although there are often sites still available that cannot be reserved online.  Other camping is available nearby from more full service RV parks to dispersed camping in the National Forest.

LOCAL FLY SHOPS:

There are several local fly shops to get your specific fly patterns and area information.

Davidson River Outfitters : DRO is located at the corner of Hwy 64 and Rt 276, within minutes of all of the CCG activities.

Curtis Wright Outfitters: CWO is located in Weaverville, just north of Asheville.

Hunter Banks: HB is located near downtown Asheville and is another well stocked option on your way to CCG.
